From the world tour to the wall: The journey behind the STORM studio
A vision takes shape
For years I have been carrying around the idea of sharing my impressions from faraway countries with others - not just as a mere memory, but as art that transforms spaces. I have often stood in the most breathtaking places in the world and thought: "That would be a beautiful picture on a wall and what a different atmosphere it could create in this room. How nice it would be to give people the feeling that they have been on these trips with me and to take them away from their everyday lives for a moment." This idea was the origin of the STORM studio. But until this vision became reality, it was a journey full of discoveries, countless inspiring moments, but also many challenges and hard work.
How it all began: Design, photography and thinking outside the box
My professional journey didn't start directly with photography, but in the design world. For over a decade, my life was full of schedules: deadlines, meetings and a job as a designer for some renowned brands such as Lindt, Haribo, After Eight and Teekanne. There I learned how important visual details are to evoke emotions and tell stories. Fantastic, right? But at some point the moment came when I asked myself: "What if I could use my creativity for something that is really close to my heart?" and a constant feeling of "There's more". Then I took the plunge. And so the STORM studio was born. A combination of my passions - design, photography, travel and interior.
The Magic of Photo Art: Stories for the Soul
As a break in between, I loved exploring the world. For me, traveling was never just a vacation, but an opportunity to discover the world through the lens of my camera. It was often the small moments that fascinated me the most: people in their everyday lives, the light that falls through the streets of an unknown city, or the untouched nature that makes you forget everything for a moment. I wanted to capture these experiences and this awareness - not only for myself, but also for others. From the streets of London to the beaches of New Zealand - I have learned to stop and see the small details. It is the hidden corners that amaze us, or the everyday moments that create a deep connection. With the STORM studio, I want to convey exactly this feeling. Each work of art should take the viewer on a journey, awaken dreams or revive their own memories - like a window into another world.
The idea behind the STORM studio
Why shouldn't art be high-quality, modern and affordable at the same time? I wanted to create something that not only looks beautiful, but creates a connection - between the work of art and the viewer, between space and personality. I often thought about the people who might never travel the world in this way. With my pictures I want to give them access to this perspective on the world.
The idea behind the STORM studio is to offer photo art that tells stories, evokes emotions and defines the soul of a room. A feeling of wanderlust and home at the same time. A friend once said to me: "Your photos feel like memories that I could have made myself, only better." And that is exactly what I aim for: In a world full of hecticness and digitalization, to create works of art that create a personal connection and inspire people and invite them to dream. Quality is particularly important to me: Each work is made from the best materials and framed with great attention to detail. This is not a short-lived poster trend, but art that lasts.
Between Mass Production and High Culture: A New Path
The art world can sometimes seem polarized: On the one hand, there is mass production, where pictures are replaced after six months because they have slipped down in the frame. On the other hand, there are exclusive galleries that treat art as an elite commodity, in whose rooms viewers either buy works of art as expensive collector's items or stroll through the rooms with a glass of champagne as interpreters. But what about those who are looking for modern, high-quality and affordable art? Art that tells stories and nestles up to its own? This is exactly where the STORM studio comes in: We create high-quality photo art that impresses with its craftsmanship and quality.
A space for inspiration and community
The STORM studio should be more than just a gallery. It should be a place where people can find inspiration and fill their spaces with life. Whether for private living spaces or professional projects - I want our art to give every room a special atmosphere.
In the long term, I see the STORM studio as a community in which other artists can also present their work. Together we can provide creative inspiration and bring new ideas to life.
This journey has begun with the STORM studio!
It will continue and should not just be a lifeless gallery, but should awaken into a community in which you are a part and can set impulses. A place where artists come together, inspire and create added value. A one-stop shop for lifestyle photo art that breathes life into interior design projects; turns a house or apartment into a home and transforms an office into a place of relaxed productivity, balanced concentration and creativity.
